About Me
So, what am I like as a therapist?
My patients would describe me as warm, engaging and interactive. I am a therapist who listens actively, challenging and encouraging your growth.
My patients come to me for a range of reasons. They may be dealing with:
Being trapped in old patterns of behavior
Being stuck in their lives and relationships, or having difficulty with dating, romance and intimacy
Issues around sex, sexuality, and connectedness
Parenting issues, dealing with aging parents, or family members with a chronic illness
Issues at work
All share the common desire to break through their blocks, even old parental and family blocks, toward a more fulfilling life.
For more than 30 years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have been working with adults in individual, couples, group therapy and sex therapy. I am also a sex therapist certified by the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Sex Therapists. I obtained this very specialized credential because emotional issues and sexual issues can be tightly linked, meaning I can evaluate and treat a sex therapy issue from a psychological, medical and health viewpoint.
When necessary, I work closely with physicians and other medical experts. You will always get the best possible care.
I work from an eclectic client-centered approach and draw upon humanistic and psychodynamic theories. I am a mother, a step-mother, and a huge aficionado of rescue dogs (I have three).
